  Terrorist Attacks in Sri Lanka

  three christian churches and three luxury hotels have been attacked in sri lanka this morning resulting in more than 130 deaths.. buddhism is the state religion in sri lanka accounting for 70% of the population, hindus make up 12% with islam and christianity comprising 9% and 7% respectively.

  no group has yet claimed responsibility.

  a civil war between government forces and separatist tamil tigers ended in 2009. the war lasted 26 years and cost at least 70,000 lives.

  There is a strange attitude by western governments. When muslims are attacked it is "PROTECT THE MUSLIMS' When muslims attack others it is "PROTECT THE MUSLIMS " Strange

  Enjoyed the Memorial

  probably not a popular opinion on here....and haven't been actively attending meetings since 1988....(i know i know a submarine attender) however thoroughly enjoyed attending this evening...was good to see lots of people i remember whilst growing up in this faith, they were genuine and the whole atmosphere was one of love.

  sure if i suddenly wanted to become active again and didn't change my lifestyle they would drop me like a bomb.....however i haven't and won't and they didn't and don't.

  this works for me.. i cannot demonize the witnesses on what i have seen tonight.

  Probably not a popular opinion on here.... however thoroughly enjoy listening to Kim Jong encouraging his people. It’s good to see lots of people love him and of course this can only mean one thing---Kim Jong-un is really a genuine person who has nothing but the best intentions for his friends, relatives and the people.

  When he Kim Jong-un talks, the whole atmosphere was one of love. Sure if I suddenly wanted to become a member of his party and didn't change my lifestyle as an American, He would drop me like a bomb.....however I haven't and won't and He didn't and don't. This works for me.

  Almost perfect!

  after a cruise-ship suffers a terrible shipwreck, the famous beauty and actress scarlett johansson finds herself alone on a deserted island.

  hours pass, and eventually only one other person makes it to the island to join her - a man.. they didn't know each other before the shipwreck, but he of course knew of her due to her beauty & fame.. at the beginning it was hard, but as time passed, this guy learned how to provide food and shelter and started taking care of her.

  she took care of him in return, and eventually she started to really feel a bond with the guy.

  It's just Gossip. You can download the ethical position for clinicians on their website in PDF format and just about all blood fractions are allowed for the members. Nothing has changed or will change. WT is trying hard to make the blood policy a conscience matter. They are not about to take two step backwards at this point. Any changes would have been put on the website first.

  and Im curious what the hell are the chanters at college/university for? They should consider themselves damn lucky they can go to college.

  I agree.

  What has happened is that this generation of youths that are taking their place among the living, are under the impression that they are entitled to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment. They truly believe that the world should revolve around them. They don't considered the hard work and sacrifice it took from previous generations to get to this point.
  

  I sometimes feel embarrassed that I'm part of this generation.

  This is the result of the first amendment being attacked. It started a few years ago in College Campuses and is picking up momentum in all areas of society.
  

  Congress shall make no law respecting ……. prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech

  Anti-first amendment- anti-free speech activities started in College Campuses. Administrative cowardice bred the ideology that provided the impetus to physical violence instead of healthy debate.

  To understand what is happening, it’s necessary to explore the ideology that provides the impetus for a lot of the protestors who violently obstruct debates, assault speakers, students and professors.

  Also we need to understand why professors are not stepping up and stopping these students who are engaged in these types of violent actions in order to stop speakers who try to convey an idea that does not align with their views.

  Here is one argument that the advocates of violence and anti-free speech make.

  A: the validity or invalidity of an argument can be judge solely by the ethic, sexual racial or culture identity of the person making the argument.

  For example the reasoning is that straight white Americans are inheritably the beneficiaries of white privilege and therefore cannot speak on certain policies, since they have not experience what it is like to be black, Hispanic, transgender, gay or a woman.

  This philosophy ranks the value of the view, not base on the logic or merit of the view, but on the level of victimization in American Society experienced by the person exposing the view.

  Therefore if you are a LGBT black woman, your view of American Society is automatically more valuable that a straight white male.

  Any argument that attacks this philosophy is considered micro-aggression and should be immediately stopped even if it includes violence to stop such speech.

  This destroys Free Speech!

  Also it turns students into snowflakes and pathetic, looking for an excuse to be offended.

  A healthy nation requires an emotional and intellectually vigorous population ready to engage in open debate at all times. Shielding college students from opposing viewpoints make them weaker and more dangerous and laying a fertile ground for a civil war.

  All of our views should be judged on their merits and not on the color, sex, or sexual orientation of the speaker,

  And those views should never be banned on the grounds that THEY OFFEND SOMEONE

  The first step to a civil war is an attack on Free speech because it promotes violence instead of open debate.

  What's the point?

  it has always baffled me, if earth and it's inhabitants, are god's sole sentient creation (aside from the angel's and demons) along with the animal life, why create such a vast galaxy, along with billions of other galaxies, with their trillions of stars and planets, etc.

  what's the point?

  our galaxy surely would've been enough, in a great void of blackness.

  but ultimately, any life outside of our world would completely change the premise upon which christianity is founded. If there isn't, why go to such elaborate lengths to create so much?

  It’s only been about 116 years since the Wright brothers made their brief flights with the first powered aircraft. The plane flew at 30 MPH. About 134 years before that, the first car was invented but it wasn’t mass produced for the average citizen until the 1900s.

  People in ancient times never traveled more than a few miles from home in any direction. Only the affluent could afford horses or camels. Since most people either grew their own food or lived near farmers from whom they could buy or barter for food, they had little need to travel.

  So most people had no idea “Who” lived in other countries—if there was such a thing as other people living in other parts of the earth.

  Consider the fact that it took Moses and about 3 million people 40 years to get from Egypt to the promise land (about 250 miles.) Today that is kind of laughable considering we can make such a trip in about 45 minutes via flight without God’s help and any need of manna to sustain us.🛩

  We have learned that there are trillions upon trillions of habitable planets in the Universe. So why haven’t we seen any alien civilizations?💆

  The reason is because our technology hasn’t advance to a point where we can travel immense distances in space in a short period of time.

  We are like Moses traveling to the promise land, (a distance of 250 miles) in 40 years. Their position in the spectrum of travel was still at the very bottom. We are not at the very bottom, but at the same time we are not even close to half in the spectrum of fast travel. As a human species we need to figure how to jump long distances in a small amount of time.

  When that time finally arrives, Christianity will be just another idea that will fade into the past, just like Zeus, Thor, and all the Greek Gods that lived on Mt. Olympus.

  And if as a species we make it that far and don’t kill ourselves, I think we will find other intelligent species.

  How they receive us is another story and it might not be very welcoming since we will be the Illegal-immigrants invading their world and their culture.
